Whoo!
I happened to return to Service Industry Night on Sunday night, but I go into more details on that on my MySpace blog; my page is helpfully listed amongst the links on this page. There are several interesting tales to tell, believe me, and of course they mainly center around the effects that alcohol has on various people.
As for the songs I'm uploading tonight, they center around the aforementioned DJ Baby Anne, the Orlando DJ who has released several Florida Breaks CD's (a new one, known as "Past Present Future" is supposed to come out July 10th; at least that's what her MySpace page says). Aside from the one time I saw her at Fusion, a club in Orlando (don't get me started on that place; yeah, it was a joint I went to several times last year but shit happened and I haven't been there in months, and who knows if I'll ever get back), the times I've seen her were at the House of Blues in Orlando. Those occasions were fun times. I remember that one time, she was part of a group of DJ's who got together as a benefit for Hurricane Katrina, I believe it was. For one dollar, you could not only donate the George Washington to charity (I know, it's not much, but at another occasion, at a Best Buy, I gave 5 dollars to Red Cross, who were set up there looking for donations for Katrina) but you also received a ticket for that upcoming Thursday's DJ Z-Trip concert. That turned out to be the best dollar I've ever spent, but I'll talk about that soon in a later update.
The first song I'll upload is another one from Anne's Mixed Live album. This one is known as "2001", and yes, it's based off of the song from the Stanley Kubrick movie. In case you don't know, the orchestra version of the song is also the theme music for pro wrestler Ric Flair, known as "The Nature Boy". Well, there was a wrestler in
The other song is one actually done by Baby Anne rather than a track done by others that she mixed into an album or for a performance. This is a shortish but still quality track from her Mixtress album; in fact, it's the title track from the album. If you only buy one breakbeat album in your life, I believe this is the one you should get. This is SO awesome… it's the best representation I know of if what it's like to be at Service Industry Night or any other similar Florida Breaks performance. I give it my highest recommendations. The next time I do this, which should be on Saturday afternoon, I will upload another track from Mixtress and one from the 2005 album she did with Jen Lasher, "Assault & Battery".

This Is The Sound Of The Underground
Yeah, this is a little behind schedule, but you know, sometimes shit brings up that you can't do anything about… I'm fine now, though, so I'll continue on with today's upload.
I'm pressed for time at this moment still, so I'll post a song that was the first track on the CD from DJ Baby Anne that was a part of Moonshine's "Mixed Live" series; this CD was recorded in
Anyhow, DJ Baby Anne is a product of
This particular song is known as "This Is The Sound Of The Underground", by Jackal (of The Cyberian Knights), who is now a part of the Jackal & Hyde DJ duo. Not only is this a kick-ass song, but also one that I've heard at Service Industry Night more than once, and the chorus is a quick breeze through the main elements that made up this style, which is the Detroit music scene, Miami being the home of the "motherfucking bass", Germany being the home of the legendary electronic music group Kraftwerk, and also noted the influence of Afrika Bambaata on the genre (with "Planet Rock" and other influential tunes).

Finally, here is the start of me talking about the type of dance music you hear at the House of Blues in

I'll be back Sunday afternoon with an example pertaining to the Florida Breaks style.
My Apologies, But...
No, this is not a blog where I discuss how to avoid those MySpace spammers or anything related to that site*, but rather, how to safeguard your computer in general against viruses, Trojan Horses, or whatever.

Leaving Them With A White Chin?
As I promised in my last upload, today's song will be a rap remix. It's been awhile since I've posted one of those, so now would be a good time for it.
"Santa Claus-I leave her with a white chin."
Wow. That line was a million stars due to its greatness. I mean, it takes a lot of lyrical talent just to be able to tie together Santa Claus and, ahem, covering a girl's face with your "fluids"!
Luda's contribution was also nice, talking about Ecstasy and drilling her with his tool. Like I said, you 2 Live Crew fans will get a lot of lol's with this track.

Ja Rule, Rock Star?
In my last update I mentioned the strange teaming up of Ozzy Osbourne with DMX and ODB for a song. I realize that sounds bizarre, but wait until you hear the song I'm putting up today. It's something that I never recalled hearing about when it was released; during late 2003, I believe it was, I somehow stumbled upon the song and I downloaded it right away, mainly to see if it was true, as it sounded just too bizarre to be anything but a fib It was a song from a compilation album by producer Swizz Beats. After listening to it, it was confirmed that it was true. It was a rock song produced by Swizz and mainly sung by the often attacked in battle raps Ja Rule, a guy who's been criticized for, among other things, being a thug one minute and singing with Ashanti the next (although shot 9 times 50 Cent DID do Candy Shop…). I was shocked that I hadn't heard anything about it as I assumed that the fans of the legendary thrash/metal band would have pitched a huge shit fit over them participating in THIS kind of project, although I guess that with the Napster controversy and the search for a new bassist after Jason Newstead left, they were already a little peeved with the band. Plus, it was a song on the soundtrack to the film Biker Boyz.

I'll be back on Tuesday night with a remix of a rap song.

Why Should We Understand The New York Times' Effect On Man?
Ozzy Osbourne is someone who experienced a career renaissance along with rising in the pop culture world after that damned reality TV show he had on MTV a few years ago. I'm not a fan of reality TV, as you can see, but then again, it's nice that Ozzy became more well known than he has anytime before in his life and attention was brought onto his musical work, where he has sang many songs that I really dig, whether it was with the legendary Black Sabbath or as a solo artist. Plus, in a morbid twist of fate, I don't live that far from where Randy Rhodes passed away due to an airplane crash.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BBL6A4PU
On Sunday night I'll put up a song with a rather shocking collaboration between a well known rock outfit and a rapper. I'm a little taken back that people didn't raise up in arms over Ozzy appearing on the same track with DMX and ODB, but I'm even more shocked that people didn't get up in arms over my next upload considering who was involved.

We Both Know What Memories Can Bring, They Bring Diamonds And Rust
Today I will upload a pair of songs; actually, they are the same songs-it's just that one of them is the studio version and the other is the live version-of the Judas Priest cover of the song "Diamonds And Rust", by folk artist Joan Baez. I've actually heard the Baez version once before on the radio; it's a folk song, so believe me it sounds quite different from the version by Priest, to say the least (and I'm a poet and didn't know it).
The studio version is from the 1977 album Sin By Sin, while the live version is from the 1979 album Unleashed In The East, recorded in Tokyo. Both are very good tunes, but I usually prefer the live version just a little bit more. It's faster paced and just a little bit catchier (especially the opening) but both should be downloaded.

I'll be back Saturday afternoon with an upload of an Ozzy song. No, it's not his new single I Don't Wanna Stop as you can hear that on radio and it's currently number 2 on the Billboard "Hot Mainstream Record Tracks" chart so it's too "popular" for a blog like this, but wait until you see the upload I have, where Ozzy covers a song that you'd think would be among the last tunes he'd ever sing.

The Radio Played That Forgotten Song
White Lion is a band whose songs I otherwise don't really care for, but they did a great job on delivering a heavy metal cover of Radar Love. Yeah, they made it less musically adventurous than the original, but it's still a very good song. I've only heard it on the radio a few times, which is a shame, as I think it's by far the best White Lion tune.

I Wish Paris Hilton Was Blind
I'll make this short and sweet as I'm low on time. To be topical I will upload a song sung by none other than Paris Hilton. Yes, believe me, I'm one of the millions around the world who celebrated together and almost cried tears of joy as we watched her cry tears of agony and cry for her mommy and act like an 8 year old when she got sent back to the slammer, when she never should've been let out in the first place.
I will now post another song I got from the Ministry of Sound 2007 Annual album. This time it's a remix of the main song from Paris's sole album. Yes, it's "Stars Are Blind", and this particular dance remix was also included on the CD single to the song. It is known as the "Tracy Does Paris" remix, the Tracy in question being DJ Tracy Young. Trace does a nice job with the song; I mean, the original wasn't that bad, believe it or not (it certainly beat anything done by Lindsay Lohan) but Paris's vapid vocals (which are a perfect match for her entire persona) are great for dance songs, so it works.

One Misanthrope Discussing Another
In today's comedy upload (the last one I'll do for awhile; I'll return on Sunday night with new song uploads) I will discuss the comedian that is ranked by many as being at or near the top alongside Pryor-of course I'm referring to George Carlin.
I realize that George is more hit and miss than Richard (especially when you talk about the contents of his books) but when he's on, he's great. I was privileged to see George perform at the MGM Grand in
Here is an entire album of his work. Now, it is hard to find his older album material or even any tracks from it (I have a cassette of his 70's work, including the famed Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television). This album I put up is great all around. It's 1992's "Jammin' In New York". The opening track discusses Bush & Iraq and how it was covered by the media; in 2007 it's just as relevant as it was 15 years ago. The rest of it is also great. Hopefully you won't have any problem d/l'ing the link, as I know that for some reason it's down at this moment.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2P0M2RFE
Now here are some tracks (combined together under the name "Things That Piss Me Off" that I believe were recorded from the HBO special rather than the album "You're All Diseased", but in any matter, it's almost 15 minutes of George griping (no, I don't like him just because he gripes even more often than I do!) about cigars, angels, Harley-Davidson, and more.

Tomorrow I will do the final comedy uploads for now; they will be stuff from George Carlin. After tomorrow I will get back to uploading songs.
Speaking of songs, I found out that there is a tribute album being released of John Lennon songs done as a way to raise money for the Darfur situation. As you can see, many major artists are involved, but some of them are people you'd rather not hear sing Lennon's solo tunes-for example, Avril Lavigne and the Black Eyed Peas! Thankfully they have sound samples up, and yeah, their covers sound terrible. If I can find the full songs online, I'll have to upload them on here. Like I said, I will be back on Friday with my final comedy uploads.

Video of A Comedy Legend
First, here is a video from the "Live on the Sunset Strip" movie. He talks about how he once worked for the Mafia.
Here is a clip from the "Live in Concert" movie. He talks about his run-in with the police.
In an educational vein, here is Part 1 of 6 of a British documentary on the man. The other volumes can be found in the list of similar videos to the right of the video.
I'll be back on Thursday with a posting of the new audio I'm still in the midst of downloading of Mr. Pryor, plus I will discuss an album I heard about just last night, and it's an album that appears to have some very horrifying tracks on it that of course I'll have to upload on here in the future just so I can mock them!

I Said, B*tch You Ain't Gonna P*ss In The Car!
Believe me, it's tough to pick out the "best" Richard Pryor tracks to upload, as many of the stuff I have is so good it's rough having to decide which ones would be the most apposite for uploadage.
Today I decided to go with a trio of tracks from the "Wanted: Live In Concert" album, which was an album of material that was based off of stuff said in the Live in Concert movie, but the movie and album were recorded in different places on different nights. I know this as I have recently seen the movie. Admittedly, it wasn't bought but instead downloaded, but… The three tracks are all related to each other and it's a topic that may sound surprising, but it deals with nature and the woods. Richard ends up talking about going into the woods with his pops as a kid and it led to him going off on several different tangents; from an unlikely source of humor, Pryor, as typical, gave a raucous performance. Enjoy all the three tracks (presented in proper order).

...And It's Deep, Too!
I decided to do something a little different for the next week or two; instead of uploading songs, I will instead put up either albums or sketches from albums from some comedy legends. I know, it's not exactly music, even though at places like Amazon.com, spoken word albums are grouped in with music and more importantly, in the past you used to have musical artists perform either before or after a comedy routine. For example, in the movie "Richard Pryor: Live In Concert," Patti LaBele performed before Richard's set. You don't see her in the movie but the producers acknowledged her in the beginning of the film.
Ever since Richard Pryor passed away in late 2005, I have been looking for albums of his to buy, but except for "… Is It Something I Said?", the only ones you can find are compilation albums, which is great and all and they are rather comprehensive, but if you don't want to buy a 9 CD box set, then the best bet for you who want to start off with much of his best material right away is "The Anthology (1968-1992)", a 2 CD set of 26 tracks. It's what I bought; it's a great deal. There are also live concert movies out there to get. Awhile back I got a 2 DVD set of his concert movies "Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip" and "Richard Pryor: Here And Now". The former was marred by obvious editing throughout where you see people laugh but it's obvious that they aren't laughing at the joke or comment that you just saw seconds earlier; it's so jarring and unneeded that it's distracting, although the material was still great; the latter was marred by asshole hecklers, but there was still some classic material.
But, there is a whole world of material out there that you can get via P2P services like Kazaa or MP3 Rocket, which is what I used to find a lot of tracks.
I'll start off, though, by posting a track from the aforementioned Anthology set, as an enticement for you to purchase it, as it's a must-have; Pryor just may be the funniest comedian of all time. He certainly wipes the floor with many of the current "popular" comedians out there, such as Dane Cook, Jim Norton, or David Cross.
Picking just one track is difficult but I decided to go with one where you can easily see his genius, so I went with a track from the record album version of "Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip." This is "Hospital," where he talks about the infamous incident where he burned himself after a night of freebasing. He doesn't say it in the track, but later it was made clear that the incident was a failed suicide attempt. Obviously, it's a sad and tragic moment, and yet he made it hilarious in a 10 minute dialogue where he talked humorously of the incident and his long recovery process.
Richard Pryor-Hospital (9.38 MB, 128Kbits/second)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VY5NRTYWOn Sunday I'll upload some harder to find tracks for y'all.
